Model 755MM-X Optical Transmitter
DWDM, 65 km, Low Distortion
Emcore’s Model 755MM-X is a directly modulated (DM) DWDM optical
transmitter specifically designed for CATV transmission over fiber links
up to 65 km.
The 755MM-X supports full 79-channel NTSC analog signal carriage
with RF bandwidth up to 870 MHz. The 755MM-X supports dual power
supplies as well as the SNMP network interface protocol.

The 755MM family of transmitter products is designed to support various
CATV transmitter applications with a common platform. Integrated within
the transmitter design are Emcore’s low chirp control, noise suppression
circuitry, and patented predistortion technology to provide outstanding
performance with any of Emcore’s wide range of cooled broadband
lasers.
The 755MM-X incorporates the Hybrid Modulation
TM
(patent pending)
scheme to enable the performance of externally modulated transmitters
with the ease of tuning directly modulated transmitters.

Laser Safety Information
This product meets the appropriate standard in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). FDA/CDRH
Class IIIb laser product. A supplemental FDA application has been filed and it is anticipated that the accession
number for this product will be 0220309 since this accession number is from a similar product family. Final
determination will be no later than 1/1/05.
Single-mode fiber pigtail with SC/APC connectors (standard).
Wavelength = 1.5
μm.
Maximum power = 30 mW.
Because of size constraints, laser safety labeling (including an FDA class IIIb label) is not affixed to the module,
but attached to the outside of the shipping carton.
Product is not shipped with power supply.
Caution: Use of controls, adjustments and procedures other than those specified herein may result in
hazardous laser radiation exposure.
