The halfwave antennas require no ground plane for
operation. This makes the antenna ideal for use with
hand held products or products with no substantial
groundplane. They can even be used with products that
consist of all plastic chassis or case. The 2.5 dB gain
antenna also compensates for system losses that
typically occur at these frequencies.
Quarterwave antennas provide performance for products
with the minimum of size. Full length quarterwave
provide the maximum efficiency, while loaded helical
stub antennas provide minimum size. The full length
models use a flexible whip, whereas the stubby antenna
uses a hard radome. Performance of quarterwave
antennas does depend on the ground plane in the radio
system. For large volume orders, performance can be
maximized with a one time factory adjustment.
Connector styles available are TNC, SMA, MMCX or a
thread ferrule assembly. The thread ferrule provides the
most economical solution. Special connectors are also
available, please consult factory.
