Upwards Compatible Design With The
LANCAM
®
A/L Family
Pin Layout
When designing with a member of the MUSIC
LANCAM “A” or “L” family it is advisable to use the
pin-layout of the largest CAM of this family, the
MU9C4480A or MU9C4480L, as shown in Diagram 1.
In the design of the MU9C4480A/L some extra pins
need to be connected that are no connects (NC) on the
smaller family members, as shown in Diagram 2. The
differences are also listed in Table 1.
When a board design for the LANCAM A/L is made
with the pin layout of the MU9C4480A/L the board can
be upgraded from a MU9C3480A/L up to a
MU9C4480A/L without making any changes to the
board.

TEST1, TEST2 (Test, Input, TTL)
It is important to note, TEST1 and TEST2 pins enable
MUSIC production test modes that are not usable in an
application. These pins should be connected to ground,
either directly or through a pull-down resistor, or the
pins may be left unconnected. TEST1 and TEST2 may
not be implemented on all versions of this product.
