The ICL8013 is a four quadrant analog multiplier whoseoutput is proportional to the algebraic product of two inputsignals. Feedback around an internal op amp provides levelshifting and can be used to generate division and squareroot functions. A simple arrangement of potentiometers maybe used to trim gain accuracy, offset voltage andfeedthrough performance. The high accuracy, widebandwidth, and increased versatility of the ICL8013 make itideal for all multiplier applications in control andinstrumentation systems. Applications include RMSmeasuring equipment, frequency doublers, balancedmodulators and demodulators, function generators, andvoltage controlled amplifiers.
