IntroductionThis application note will examine a variety of sync formatsand a method for removing the sync pulse from componentvideo signals (see Figure 1). The EL8102 is a single supplyVideo Op Amp with rail to rail output stage that is ideal forvideo signal amplification and sync stripping functions. Thisproduct was developed for video design engineers who needto remove sync from component RGB (red, green, blue) andmonochrome RS-170 video data (see Figure 7). Recentlythe term RGB has been turned around and called GBR(green, blue, red) as video distribution systems normally putgreen on channel 1, blue on channel 2 and red on channel 3.This is consistent with the hook-up of the color differencestandards.
