The Texas Instruments RF430FRL152H is the first product of a new 13.56 MHz sensor transponder family with a programmable 16-bit MSP430 low-power microcontroller. It features embedded universal FRAM non-volatile memory for code or data storage enabling many sensor applications. Sensor measurements are supported by the internal temperature sensor, thermistor and analog sensors using the onboard 14-bit sigma-delta analog-to digital converter. The RF430FRL152H supports communication, parameter setting and configuration via the ISO/IEC 15693, ISO18000-3 compliant RFID interface and the I2C/SPI serial Interface. Optimized for operation in fully passive (battery-less) or single-cell battery-powered mode to achieve extended battery life in portable and wireless sensing applications. This session will introduce you to the hardware architecture, modules and key features of the RF430FRL152H, the software stack support provided by TI and the development tools available.
